Packing for a winter trip can be difficult – especially when you have to fit thick coats, trousers, hats and scarves in a small case.
Bulky clothes are tricky to pack but essential to keep warm and cosy when exploring a new city.
Fortunately, experts from Pure Digital PR have revealed handy packing hacks that help maximise space.
One in particular is useful at reducing the amount of space clothes take inside a case, The Express reports.
The experts recommend vacuum packing items – using a hoover to suck air out of clothes and compress them.
They’re relatively affordable to buy, too, and some can be found on Amazon for less than £10.
Another tip is to pack clothes that have multiple uses and match with a range of different options.
‘A versatile black jumper can be dressed up for dinner or worn casually during the day, while a quality jacket that’s both waterproof and warm eliminates the need for multiple coats,’ the expert said.

What’s more, neutral colours tend to work for a variety of outfits.
She added: ‘Choosing a neutral colour palette also means fewer items overall, as everything coordinates seamlessly.’
Travellers could also wear their biggest clothes when they fly, so they don’t take up important space in the case.
For example, thick coats, hats and big boots could be worn.
Another travel expert, Chantel Mila, who shares lifestyle tips on her social media account @mama_mila, revealed some ‘quick tricks’ for packing in a TikTok video.
She advised travellers pack in a certain way to save space, and demonstrated by stacking her clothes in a suitcase.
‘Fit more clothes in your suitcase by packing it vertically,’ Chantel explained.
Sometimes travelling, especially long-haul journeys, can mean clothes stuck inside a case for a while can seem musty.

Chantel shared her tip for keeping them ‘smelling fresh’ and advised placing ‘essential oil on cotton balls’ inside luggage.
Another space-saving hack involves a specific way to arrange belts inside the suitcase.
‘Pack your belts around your suitcase to save space,’ Chantel said.
She then demonstrated carefully placing a belt on the edge of her packed items.
