Fortunately, new research from SumUp has revealed the best European holidays that won’t break the bank.
Considering factors including the cost of flights, beer and accommodation, here are the top 10 destinations for a Christmas trip.
Poznan in Poland places first and is a lesser-known city compared to other popular spots like Krakow.
But it shouldn’t be overlooked, visitors can enjoy a Christmas market in the Old Market Square and sip beers that cost as little as £2.49.
Flights from London are priced at around £52 and a hotel works out at around £30.40 a night.
With everything accounted for, SumUp estimates a trip to Poznan could come to £126.60.

Sarande, in Albania, ranked second, with flights costing around £30 and hotels working out to be just £48.64 a night on average.
A pint comes to £2.28 and an average meal can be around £45.27.
During the Christmas period, there is a festive market selling local goods, crafts and other treats.
Metz placed third overall and a flight to the French city comes to around £52.64 on average.
A night in a hotel can be £51.68 and the average cost for a pint works out at £3.52.
Visitors will have plenty of festivities to enjoy during their stay, including the Christmas markets which are spread across five squares.
Craiova, in Romania, ranked fourth and proved to be the cheapest spot for a pint of beer – at around £1.92 on average.
One night in a hotel comes to just £29.64 and the flights to the destination cost around £95.

Germany city Trier ranked fifth, with the total average trip costing £167.14.
In sixth place is another German spot, Dresden.
And Prague, Czech Republic followed in seventh.
Hungarian capital Budapest ranked ninth, while Valkenburg in The Netherlands came tenth overall.
