Italian millionaire who moved to London leaves after just WEEKS due to ‘dangerous’ and ‘unbelievable’ state of the UK

An Italian millionaire who moved to London to invest his fortune left after just six weeks because of a ‘constant fear of being mugged’ and sky-high prices.

Eduardo Biasi, also known as Eddy, runs a digital investment platform, and decided to move to the UK to build his business in early 2024.

But despite planning to stay for six months, he’d had enough within weeks.

The 26-year-old flew in from Milan expecting big opportunities and top-tier business connections.

Instead, he claims to have been met with phone thieves on bikes, chaos in the streets and a constant fear of being mugged.

He was left shocked by ‘the state of Britain’ – a country he had once ‘admired’.

‘London was horrible – the crime rate was not just scary, it was unbelievable,’ he said.

‘I was aiming to stay for six months because I wanted to move to the UK permanently.’

He added: ‘At first, I was loving it. London has great places to shoot content, and I had good contacts with brokers who could help me expand my company.

‘The Italian food was great too – I’m from Milan, so that was a big plus – but when I saw a £60 bill for a simple plate of pasta, I nearly spat my drink out.

‘Absolutely crazy. I guess it’s what happens when you mix London prices with Brexit – everything’s skyrocketed.

‘But it’s so dangerous to live here. I couldn’t go outside without worrying if someone would rob or attack me.

‘I constantly spotted thieves on bikes stealing people’s phones.

‘Even if you don’t wear expensive watches or drive a nice car like me, you don’t feel safe walking around the street.

‘The UK is crime-riddled. I think it’s a problem around the whole of Europe, but London especially is shocking.’

'I left London scared of being robbed - now I wake up every day in Dubai feeling unstoppable,' he said

He said: ‘Life here is dynamic. I go out for dinner, play tennis, hit the gym – but there’s always something happening.

‘Events, networking, parties – you never feel stuck in a routine. Every day feels different, and that’s what I love most.
