One holidaymaker has revealed why he will never return to Egypt after spending three weeks in the country.
He claimed he experienced a range of ‘non-stop scams’ as well as ‘aggressive staring’ and ‘restaurants denying reservations’.
The traveller felt so passionately that he typed out his thoughts on Reddit during his flight home.
He explained how his three-week holiday to the popular destination ‘drained my soul like a Dyson vacuum on turbo mode’.
Things began to go wrong the moment the holidaymaker landed in the country.
He was hit with an unexpected visa fee and as well as another charge to speed through the process.
‘I paid $15 for ‘fast immigration,’ which apparently translates to stand in the same line as everyone else while random people walk straight through anyway,’ he penned.
‘Then some guy appears out of nowhere demanding another $15 for a ‘registration fee,’ which I’m convinced was created on the spot.’

Tourists planning on staying in Egypt for more than 15 days do need a visa, according to the UK Foreign Office.
It also explains how in some cases, when holidaymakers arrive in the country, ‘approved airports have kiosks before you reach the immigration counters where you can buy a visa for 25 US dollars (cash only – Egyptian officials prefer dollars, but you may be able to pay in British pounds or euros). Visas on arrival are valid for up to 30 days.’
The tourist also found it uncomfortable when locals stared at him and explained: ‘I’m a guy, I don’t scare easily, but the way people stare here is unbelievable.
‘Men, women, whole families just staring at you nonstop like they’re trying to download your data with their eyes.’
In another instance, he was charged 1525 EGP for a ticket but on the card reader it apparently read 1525 USD.
He admitted he had never witnessed such a ‘bold’ attempt of ‘scam’.
Something went wrong with the holidaymaker’s restaurant reservation, too, and he ended up not being able to eat at the venue after waiting an hour.

Meanwhile, when he took a taxi, they agreed on a set price but the driver then asked for 3,000 EGP extra for having to wait.
By the end of his trip he felt ‘completely cooked’ and didn’t want to stay in the country ‘another minute’.
He warned other holidaymakers to avoid booking a trip to Egypt after his own ‘chaotic’ experience.
