A flight had to make an emergency landing after a passenger was apparently found smoking inside the toilet.
On November 9, a JetBlue plane departed from Boston Logan International Airport and was heading to Tampa International Airport.
The Airbus A321 was en route to complete flight JBU1191 and was carrying 200 passengers, Simple Flying reports.
Things took a turn when someone on board reportedly smoked marijuana and the smell wafted over to the cabin crew.
Instagram account @you_can_see_atc posted footage that reveals the moment a pilot contacted Air Traffic Control about the issue, at 34,000 feet in the air.
In the audio, he said: ‘For JetBlue 1191, we had a security issue on board with a passenger, mostly a disturbance.’
The pilot goes on to explain how the smoke was noticed by flight attendants.
He said: ‘They were smoking marijuana. Our crew inhaled it. And now we’re overweight landing [when an aircraft lands with a gross weight exceeding its maximum design landing weight]. So that’s the main reason for the emergency.’

The plane was then arranged to return to Boston Airport and the controller replied: ‘JetBlue 1191, Boston, information K is now current, expect ILS RWY 22L approach.
‘Tower advises if you’d like the longer runway, 15R, that is available and expect a light chop in the descent.’
Flight data on Flight Aware shows how the plane departed at 5.20pm and a depiction of the route details how it turns around.
The plane landed at 7.32pm at Boston Logan International Airport.
The Daily Mail approached JetBlue for comment.
It comes after a Ryanair flight was diverted after a passenger reportedly ‘ate his passport’ and another attempted to flush one down the toilet.
Around 15 to 20 minutes into the journey from Milan to London-Stansted, two men began to behave ‘strange’, an anonymous source told the Daily Star.
Shortly after the seatbelt signed was switched off, one of the men, who was seated at the front of the plane, reportedly ripped pages out of his passport and ate them, causing passengers to ‘freak out’.

Meanwhile, another man attempted to ‘flush his passport down the toilet’.
‘Staff were notified and went to see what was going on at the front of the plane,’ the source told the publication.
‘Suddenly, the whole mood changed – no one onboard knew what was going on; these people were acting weird.’
A flight attendant reportedly knocked on the toilet door and tried to convince the man to stop flushing the important travel document down the loo.
