The three ‘controversial’ things this mum makes her kids do on holiday

A mum has revealed the three ‘controversial’ things she makes her children do when they go on holiday.

Stephanie Woodward, who has triplets alongside two foster children, is from the US and shares her life and parenting techniques online.

She shared the video on her Instagram account @wctriplets, posting to her 43,000 followers.

She captioned the video: ‘I’m just trying to raise smart, polite humans who know how to get where they’re going.’

Stephanie highlighted her first rule: ‘It doesn’t matter where we are, in the Cayman Islands, in Washington DC, or in our own home.

‘Every single day of summer vacation, my older boys do one math worksheet.

‘It’s for the grade that they are going into, and this is because I don’t want them to experience a summer slump, and I want them to feel really prepared and excited for the year ahead of them.’

She went on to say: ‘Number two, I make them navigate everywhere we go.

‘Whether we are walking around a tourist area in Washington DC or a resort or somewhere else, they are going to be able to read the map and tell us how to get there.

‘And if this means we waste some time going in the wrong direction, then so be it, because I want them to be able to navigate for themselves as they continue to get older.

‘And they’re always so proud of themselves when we finally get to our destination and they know that they’re the reason we were able to get there.’

Number three?

‘I don’t think that this should be controversial,’ Stephanie says, ‘but I have seen a lot of parents roll their eyes or give me dirty looks when I have my kids do this.’

‘Anytime we go somewhere that there is a set of rules outside, I make my kids read the rules.’

For example, she does this at water parks and play areas.

Viewers were quick to praise Stephanie on her parenting techniques.
